This test is suitable for travellers of areas to high or intermediate prevalence who place themselves at risk when abroad and have received immunisation. It is generally accepted that patients in this category whose test results show levels of 10mlU/ml or more are generally accepted as enough to protect against infection. Patients at high risk for occupation health reason should be offered a quantitative test.
